Day 108: God is Raising Up And Giving Over

Today we read 1 Samuel 29-31 and Psalm 18. This is a story about God raising up David as he walks by faith and giving Saul over to the adversary he desires over God himself. This is the end of 1st Samuel. The prophecy is fulfilled, and Saul is killed in battle. It’s a story reminder to walk by faith and not by sight. What might look like weakness or defeat, may in fact be micro-actions of God towards His architecture of victory. This story also reminds us to remember and obey, wholeheartedly pursue God’s heart to avoid the adversary mastering us as we saw happen to Saul where Saul wanted a relationship with God on his terms for his reputation and not a relationship with God for God’s purposes and His in all capitals reputation.
