Day 109: A Glimmer of Hope. Anticipation Rising.

Today we read 2 Samuel 1-2, 1 Chronicles 1-2, and Psalm 13. We start two new books, enriching our understanding of “the” story. We recap where we are in the larger story and learn about King David’s response to King Saul’s death. David goes to God for what to do first as the anointed king, and he is called to Hebron, the place where Abraham is from. We learn that not everyone views David as the next king of Israel, yet. We also read about the genealogies that lead to the messianic king in 1 Chronicles. Both stories offer a glimmer of hope and create a sense of anticipation for the future messianic king and the new second temple.
